Joshua B (Joshua Bonnett) is a singer, rapper, songwriter and producer from Phoenix, AZ. He now lives in Amarillo, TX with his wife of 3 years and 1 and a half year old daughter. He has been doing music for over 15 years. He started singing at the age of 6, began writing his own songs at the age of 9, and started rapping at around 14 years old. He recorded his first song at the young age of 11 years old, written by his older brother who inspired him to start doing music. The song was called “Hang Out”, and was basically an innocent song about pursuing a crush. Joshua B is now 26 years old and has written and recorded countless songs. He is a Christian who has a love for God, and his music naturally reflects that. In the past, his my music was mostly about getting girls, money, and fame. His dream was to be signed to a major record label, blow up, and become a huge celebrity. He wanted the money and fame because he thought it would make me more significant as a person. After dedicating his life to God, he realized that his significance wasn’t in how many people knew his name, how many records he could sell, or how much money he acquired, but that he was created with a purpose; to make and impact on the world for God’s glory. After this revelation, Joshua B no longer desired to be a famous star, or to create music that was all about himself. Instead, he wanted to make music that he felt God would be proud to hear. Music that people could relate to on a real level. Music that could impact somebody’s life. After doing 3 solo projects, Joshua B is ready to take his craft to the next level and create his best work yet, in order to make an impact on believers and non-believers alike. Joshua B’s sound is influenced by his older brother Kevyn Richmond and artists like Michael Jackson, Marvin Gaye, Usher, John Legend, Brandy and Christon Grey. He is also influenced by rappers, such as Common, Tupac, Eminem, Nas, Swoope, Trip Lee and Andy Mineo.
