Charli XCX Starts New Chapter with “Good Ones”

Charli XCX’s last studio album, her fourth, came out in May of 2020. She’s been working on her fifth since early this year and is now ready to start sharing some of the results with us.

“Good Ones” is the lead single from that upcoming fifth studio album. See it here:

The song doesn’t just mark the beginning of the promotion for the new album. It also marks a “new chapter” according to Charli XCX.

“The first single of my new chapter embraces all that my life has to offer in today’s world – fame, glamour, inner demons and global hits,” said the singer in a statement. “‘Good Ones’ was produced by Oscar Holter of Max Martin’s Wolf Cousins entity, and laments my inability to keep hold of healthy relationships, instead being endlessly drawn back to the dysfunctional and toxic.”

Fascinating. It will be interesting to see where this goes for the artist.
