Elton John Announces Dates For Final North American Tour

Elton John Announces Dates For Final North American Tour

All the way back in January of 2018, Elton John announced he would be retiring from touring following a three-year tour. The Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour launched September 8th, 2018 in Allentown, Pennsylvania at the PPL Center. The tour continued all over the world through 2019 and into early 2020 before COVID-19 shut it down.

As society begins to open up again, John has decided to get back out on the road and finish what he started. The tour will resume in Berlin, Germany in early September 2021 and John will travel through the continent until the end of the year. Then, starting in 2022, John will head to North America. His first show will be at the Smoothie King Center in New Orleans, Louisiana on January 19th, 2022. He’ll stay in the US and Canada through late April before heading back to Europe for a month. Finally, he’ll return to North America for this newly announced set of dates. This final leg of the tour will begin in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on July 15, 2022 at Citizens Bank Park and continue through November where John will perform his big finale at Dodger Stadium in Los Angeles, California, home to one of his most famous performances ever.

A truly fitting end to a legendary career.

“I’m going to go out in the biggest possible way, performing at my very best, with the most spectacular production I’ve ever had, playing in places that have meant so much to me throughout my career,” said John.

He’s not exaggerating about “biggest.” The venues for the twenty newly announced dates are all large stadiums -- the kinds that football and baseball teams play in. They all hold upwards of 35,000 people so John is giving lots of fans a chance to come see him perform one last time.
