Prince Tribute: Watch Pink Floyd’s David Gilmour Mash Up ‘Comfortably Numb’ And ‘Purple Rain’
David Gilmour paid tribute to fellow guitar virtuoso Prince during his gig at London’s Royal Albert Hall on Sunday night. Bathed in purple light, the Pink Floyd member performed a mashup of “Comfortably Numb” and Prince’s “Purple Rain”.
This is not the first time Gilmour has covered “Purple Rain”. He teamed with Tom Jones for a live performance of the song back in 1992.
