Featured applicant: Ricky Davila

Are you guys ready for our next featured ISINA applicant? Today we are honored to have a vocalist Ricky Davila from Philadelphia, PA

We asked Ricky a few questions about his music career:

When did you first discover your passion for music?

I've technically been singing since I was 4 years old. My Mother said that I always ran around the house to get her attention because I wanted her to sit down and listen to me perform the song "Oh Danny Boy". Lol. She said that was the only song I ever sang up until I was about 10. To this very day she still doesn't understand why I loved that song so much haha!

What inspires you as an Artist?

Honestly, what truly inspires me are the smiles I see when I'm performing for people. The unconditional love that I feel from everyone enjoying what I'm singing, feeling my words and connecting with my heart is enough for me. The moment I realized that I could actually help make someone's day a little brighter and a little better just with a song is the day I decided to make music my full focus. I've never looked back and I thank God for giving me the love and strength to keep moving forward.
What artist would you love to collaborate with someday?

What's the best advice anyone's ever given you?

You must first believe in yourself before anyone else can believe in you

What artist would you love to collaborate with someday?

Wow, that's a tough one, but I'd have to pick either Celine Dion or Jennifer Hudson only because I'm truly inspired by the both of them both musically and personally.

Where do you see yourself (musically) in 5 years?

Life is short and tomorrow is never guaranteed, so all I'll say is in 5 years, I would love to see myself still living a happy, peaceful life filled with music, creativity, inspiration and love.

What is your ultimate music dream?

My ultimate music dream sounds extremely silly, but I'd love to be given the honor of performing a tribute to a legendary musician or actor at the Kennedy Center Honors or even Carnegie Hall as recognition of all their creative work. That would be one of the highest, most fullfilling moments of my career because not only would I have been able to create my own art, but I could show them how much their art inspired me.
