Tigye was practically born into music, growing up his father had a passion for music in which he then introduced Tigye to the sound of recording and his Genius of creating beats, Tigye's mother was a singer and had a passion for both music and poetry. He grew up well diverse within the hip hop and poetry community listening to “A Tribe Called Quest" "Mos Def” “Common" "Kanye West" "Jill Scott” "Eryka Badu" "Michael Jackson” and "Alicia keys” the list literally goes on forever from old school to new school. Tigye moved around a lot however his gratitude overcame the challenges of his continued new beginnings after he realized it gave him more exposure creatively aswell as socially. At the age of 7 his parents separated and his father relocated back to his home Bronx NY, and because of the distance he seen his father once sometimes twice a year…. because of his love for music his father bought him a drum set and that was the start of his personal music journey. In high school he shortly took piano lessons, then began teaching himself with the keyboard he had at home but it wasn't until his freshman year of high school when he started actually writing and recording, but because of him getting into a lot of trouble it wasn’t until his junior year that changed music from being a hobby into being taken seriously with hopes of a career in music, after doing a bunch of "bad stuff" over the years, and realizing the extent of his gift he decided that it was time to grow up, but being raised in a single parent (mother) household made writing become his therapy. “it was serious for me, it helped me cope with my emotions and thoughts.” he then released a song called "I got it” but it wasn’t until he released his hit "Callin” that grabbed attention! "that was like the song of the year for me, since then I automatically knew the music I make isn't just for me. There would be times random people would hit me up and tell me that my music inspires them and helps them with whatever they going through, and walking around school I would always hear someone singing the lyrics to my song, which had me boosted in a way. I graduated and went to a community college, knowing I could've went to a University, then I dropped out. College isn’t for everyone and so I push 10 times harder with my music, because i believe in my music." Tigye is inspired by Travis $cott, Jazz Cartier, and Derek Wise, but lyrically Mick Jenkins, and Daniel Caesar.
