I was born and grew up in Democratic Republic Of Congo (Central Africa) from a family of seven children and I am the first born. At seven years old I fall in love with music. Unfortunately, I did not have the guitar, so I would sing and drumming instead. Few years later at age of 10, my uncle bought a guitar because he was a musician. I visited him almost everyday so that I could get the opportunity to play when he wasn't playing. I learned different styles of African music from him. 8 years later at age 18, I got into jazz and also into different western and Latin music though it wasn't easy to find proper training and materials of learning. I used few resources that came across until 2006 when I migrated to the United States of America. Moving to America was a dream come true because I learned from back home that it's a land of opportunity.
It was a tough experience to go through because parents did not want me to be a musician. I am happy because though the circumstances I did not give up on what I love to do and today, both of my parents are happy for me. I always been in school and was able to spare time to practice my instrument.
