Early life
Walid Georges Al Massih was born on June 7, 1982 in Anfeh north of Lebanon, where he was raised. Al Massih first began playing the Oud at the age of 7 and won many youth competitions and the like. Later, Walid started playing the guitar and expanded into rock music. The teenaged Al Massih would be joined by his brothers Jihad and Wissam Al Massih in what would be the start of his live performance career. After moving to playing keyboards and working in many of Beirut’s top clubs, Walid would use his connections to secure his first work as a producer in an album named after a prominent club “Shah Lounge”. Singer and “Arab Superstar” Ragheb Alama heard his material and began working with him. Later, Walid would produce one of Ragheb’s most successful hits to date, “Yighib”. It was at that time that Walid would found his record label and production house New Wave Productions to become one of the most prominent producers in the region.
