Elton John Puts Together Superteam For New Album

Elton John may be finishing up his touring career but that doesn’t mean the music legend is going to stop making music all together.

In fact, John has just announced his latest album, The Lockdown Sessions, will be out on October 22nd and will feature an all-star lineup of collaborators. And we mean all-star. Just some of the names on the list include Charlie Puth, Gorillaz, Nicki Minaj, Miley Cyrus, Yo-Yo Ma, Brandi Carlile, Lil Nas X, Eddie Vedder, Stevie Wonder, and Stevie Nicks.

He’s also doing one with Dua Lipa called “Cold Heart (PNAU Remix)” that combines pieces from multiple John songs throughout the years. Check out the wild music video:

The Lockdown Sessions is a series of songs created over the last year and a half during COVID quarantine.

"The last thing I expected to do during lockdown was make an album,” said John in a statement. “But, as the pandemic went on, one‐off projects kept cropping up and I’ve ended with a selection of really interesting and diverse stuff that was completely different to anything I’m known for, stuff that took me out of my comfort zone into completely new territory. And I realised there was something weirdly familiar about working like this. At the start of my career, in the late 60s, I worked as a session musician. Working with different artists during lockdown reminded me of that. I’d come full circle: I was a session musician again. And it was still a blast."

Making the best out of a bad situation. We love it!
