Paul Oakenfold Interview in Dance Documentary: 'What We Started'

Electronic dance music actually began in the '70s with Kraftwerk and disco, but it continues to reinvent itself into new trends of dance-pop, hybrids and other beautiful offshoots. The question remains, though, as to how we actually got here. The new documentary What We Started will attempt to explain this history. The film, produced by Bert Marcus Productions and directed by Marcus and Cyrus Saidi, has everything from old archived footage of '80s and '90s rave scenes to interviews with your favorite DJs and producers, including Martin Garrix, Carl Cox, Moby, one of Isina’s own legendary mentors Paul Oakenfold, David Guetta, Afrojack and Tiesto, as well as dance feature vocalists (and enthusiasts) Usher and Ed Sheeran, who have helped bring electronic sounds to a wider audience!
