The lead single off Michael Jackson’s album, Bad, was the pop ballad, "I Just Can't Stop Loving You." Even though the song was initially plotted to be a duet with a fellow megastar, Siedah Garrett, a mostly unknown songwriter from Quincy Jones' crew, was chosen as its female lead. The song became the set's first Hot 100 No. 1 in September 1987.
According to the producer, Quincy Jones: “Michael wanted Streisand or Whitney to sing that song with him. While he was doing that, I just pushed Siedah on the song, and she loved it. He loved her.”Get started
