Humberto Gatica Aids in Restoration of a Michael Jackson Classic

The Estate of Michael Jackson announced that the highly anticipated Michael Jackson's Thriller 3D is making its world premiere at the 74th Venice Film Festival 2017. The original short will not be re-edited or recut in any way. Instead, Optimum Productions brought the original director, Michael Landis, in and together worked tirelessly using the original 35mm film negative from Michael's archives and produced a 3D conversion using the latest and greatest in modern technology.

To give you a little history, Thriller premiered at the AVCO Theatre in Los Angeles in 1983, selling out every single night for 3 weeks. No other music film has generated this amount of excitement and Thriller remains the only music video to be inducted into the elite National Film Registry by the Library of Congress.

One of Isina's very own mentors, Humberto Gatica, provided professional audio services for the creation of Michael Jackson’s Thriller 3D, along with NBC Universal Studio Post Feature Sound and Martin Nessi, with 2D Film Restoration by Deluxe Lab and 3D Film Conversion by Legend3D.
