Who said live music was dying?

Britain's booming live market proved itself to be quite alive and well. In 2016, over 30 million people attended concerts and festivals, which was in INCREASE of 12% over the prior year (according to research from umbrella organization UK Music).

The increase in ticket sales meant that music fans generated £4 billion (US $5.1 billion) to the U.K. economy, which was an 11% increase versus 2015's figure of £3.7 billion.

Some other interesting points: of those 30.9 million people who attended a live music event in 2016, 27 million went to concerts (up 13% vs 2015) with the remaining 3.9 million facing the U.K's unstable weather to attend festivals (up 6%).
