Featured Applicant: Jacobi Gunter (Drummer)

Jacobi is from the United States, and was born with a rare kidney disorder called “Barter’s Syndrome”. Even with his illness, it never stopped his passion for drumming.

He even remembers the day he started drumming at 18 months old. I would not be able to remember what I liked at that age, pretty amazing!

With that passion he has won some pretty good gigs, like a spot on the NBA Charlotte Bobcats drum team which are known as the Hornets.

Before Jacobi auditioned for the drum team they told him he was too young at 17 years old, but decided to make an exception. Then he was asked to do the halftime show solo!

Jacobi was called back last year as a solo artist to perform center court every Wednesday for the team’s introduction track, chosen by the team’s owner. I think that is a very big achievement!

Jacobi wants to complete his education and continue drumming! He also wants to inspire others through his drumming!
