I'm a girl who wanders but isn't lost. I love to sing/travel. Wherever I end up in life, I just want to sing. My musical inspirations include artists/legends such as Etta James, Christina Aguilera, Adele, Ella Fitzgerald, Louis Armstrong, Aretha Franklin, Norah Jones, Alicia Keys and many more. My main inspirations, however, are my mother, who hasn't had the easiest life, my two grandmothers, who don't have many years left, my mother's sisters who have always been supportive (One of them actually does hair for movies), and my cousin who died a couple of years ago from schizophrenia. I get up every day and go to college(for echocardiography), because I know how hard it is to make a music career for yourself, but it keeps pulling me back. I get lost in my music, it's saved my life and helped me through a lot of things growing up, so if this is my one chance, I'm shooting my shot because it's all I want, all I dream about, and more important, it's who I am. From the time I could walk and talk, I was dancing in front of the tv with a microphone and pretending I was Christina Aguilera or Britney Spears or Cher. I would sing all the time, especially in the shower. My family has made fun of me on many occassions for this. But I really didn't even know there was anything there until 7th grade. I had transferred to a catholic school, and you either had to play an instrument or join the choir, and I didn't play an instrument, so choir it was. And come to find out people actually liked my voice.. that fall, I played Sandy in our Grease-themed concert, and that spring I was convinced to sign myself up for the talent show and sang, "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera acapella. I was shaking like a leaf because that was the largest amount of people I had ever sang to, but I've become more comfortable with my stage presence now. Whatever experience comes from this, I'll be forever grateful. And regardless of whether I win anything(I have terrible luck) I'm appreciative for the opportunity.
