Ashton Vines is a career musician focused on writing, recording and performing music that moves your heart and soul. He specializes in the saxophone but is a multi-instrumentalists.
Ashton was born and raised in Chicago, IL. His father, Marc Vines, is a musician as well and played the saxophone in a band (Magnum Force) in his younger days. At the early age of 6 years old, Ashton discovered his gift of music and has been honing his craft ever since. In his growth as a musician he has studied with Terry Tritt(Saturday Night Live Band) , Walter Blanding (Lincoln Center Jazz Orchestra) , and Charlie Young (Howard University). Ashton earned his Bachelor of Music degree at Howard University. As a HU grad, he was a Washington D.C. musician performing with the likes of McCoy Tyner, Wycliffe Gordon, Bobby Watson, Hubert Laws, Bunkie Green, Pharoah Sanders, Bennie Maupin, and Sonny Fortune, among others. Ashton also went on a seven city tour in Japan with the Howard Jazz Ensemble during his time in Washington D.C.
Currently Ashton is back in his hometown using his musical talents as a member of the New Faith Baptist Church Music Ministry in Matteson, IL. He performs at churches around the Chicagoland area changing lives and moving spirits of the people around him through his music. He has currently just released his hip hop inspired second album entitled “New Beginnings.”
