GANAPATI is a Brazilian Rock and Blues band from Rio de Janeiro made up of musicians Tacito Savoya (bass and vocals), Leandro Figueiredo (vocals and guitar), and Jose Claudio Santos (drums, percussion, and vocals).
The group first gathered in late 2010 to cover some of the major works of bands such as Led Zeppelin, the Beatles, Pink Floyd, The Doors, Genesis, Rolling Stones, Fleetwood Mac, Crosby, Stills & Nash, Jethro Tull, Creedence Clearwater Revival, Deep Purple, Eric Clapton, BB King, and Steve Ray Vaughan. These bands, as well as many other Brazilian artists, have influenced the musical trajectory of each member of GANAPATI.
Since their first concert in Rio de Janeiro in December 2011, GANAPATI has continued to perform in different cities throughout Brazil. The trio has also written their own compositions and recorded them on their self-titled album, GANAPATI. Their songs incorporate a variety of musical genres, including rock, blues, jazz, and pop as well as various Brazilian musical styles.
In partnership with the musician and composer Marcus Viana (from the progressive rock band Sagrado Coração da Terra), GANAPATI wrote the song “Deep in the Blue,” which was one of the themes for the TV drama “Flor do Caribe” from Globo TV.
The group continues to perform shows of their own compositions as well as the great classics of international and Brazilian music. They are also preparing new songs for their next album.
