The story of Acid Looks began in July of 2013, when four members decided to quit their previous band due to complete misunderstanding with the leader and songwriter of that band. Long time before that Acid Looks` singer Stevie Anthony had been playing with the guitar player Ilya Ovchinnikov and the drummer Andrew Stepanov in several projects including cover bands, while Nik Khasanov had become acquainted with them only in January of 2013 as a bass player.
Shortly after the decision to make a new band was made, Acid Looks began working on a new material including cover versions of famous rock bands, such as Guns N`Roses, Van Halen and others, which were a source of inspiration for the band.
The aspiration to become a serious music project led to a quick release of an early demo in September of 2013 called “The First Cut”, which contained 2 songs and a cover version of Led Zeppelin song. These demos let the band participate in some local shows. Understanding the importance of making a new release Acid Looks started recording a full-length album by the winter. However, a release was delayed till June of 2014 because of problems with the drum player. During winter and spring of 2014 the band played several shows including the battle of the bands, which Acid Looks won.
Soon after the release of their album “Looks Like Acid” they made a live video on the song “Cockroach” from that LP during their show in Jagger club. The release received positive reviews from listeners and music professionals. At that time Andrew decided to quit, though he played 2 concerts as a drummer after that. At the end of summer the band played a successful acoustic show in a local venue and recorded an acoustic cover on Guns N`Roses` “Sweet Child O`Mine”.
By the end of September of 2014 Acid Looks found a new drummer, George Leonidze, and started rehearsing old songs along with the new ones. By November they released a cover on Queen`s famous “Tie Your Mother Down”, which is the last recording with Andrew. In January of 2015 the band released a video introduction of George playing an extended version of their song “Turn Around”. Currently the band is working on recording their second LP.
